some new e-acronyms

hufffff, got bored typing "stay in touch" and "keep in touch" in many
of mails.. here, i am just suggesting some arconyms to replace it..


SIT = "Stay In Touch"
KIT = "Keep in Touch"

Since I talked about acronym, I want to mention here, how acronyms differ
from abbreviations...

acronym : Short form, formed from the First letters of a compound term.

abbreviation : short form of a compound term.. does not have specific rule
of formation.

eg :

WHO (World Health Organization is an example of acronym)
etc. (etcetra, is an example of abbreviation).

so, acronym is a special case of abbreviation...

some observations....

infatuation : a short - lived attraction
love : a long lived infatuation

huh, this is what I observed.

DiWaLi

it is diwali time, in india. this is the times when people buy dresses
and other shopping to have a good year ahead.(and number of such occasions,
similar to diwali, is also there. and the frequency of such occasion
is one in a month). And of course, these festivals make the shop
owners happy because of their booming business. Even I went for
shopping and bought some dresses. Got a chance to look at the fake products
manufactured, selling at road side shops, (some times I saw these in big shops
as well). here i am dropping some of fake products (sounding like the
original counter part).

goodland shoes - sister consultant of Woodland, huh?

peter india - rival for peter england

van philip - aah haa, what a collaboration of van huesen and louis philip

hero shirts - doesn't this sounds like sero shirts ;-)?

rockey briefs and vests - if the jockeys hear this, they will hang

Beta slippers - similar to BATA slippers, by name

and of course, these branded brand names are good source for amusement.

for those who does not know about the diwali?

diwali (derived from the sanskrit word deepavali, meaning "a row of lamps")

diwali, is a famous festival in india, celebrating the assasination(?) of naragasuran,
a daemon. he was born to bhumaa devi (godess of land). and later he got a boon
from brahma(a mythical figure, creator of living beings), that his death
should come only from his mother, assuming that no mother kills her own child.
(wow, what a logic?)

after getting the boon, his play started and he was very cruel those days
(the myth says). then vishnu,shiva,brahma(other mythical figures), met and
played a drama to kill naragasuran. they created a girl, named "Satyabhama",
(as rebirth of bhumaa devi, mother of naragasuran). satyabhama, also being the wife
of vishnu, went to war with vishnu against naragasuram, as a charriot.

vishnu acted in the war, as if he is hurted, which made sathyabama to fight
and kill naragasura. on his death, the daemon, realized his mistakes and
requests people to celebrate the day with crackers and sweets.
this day is diwali. so let's have fun to celebrate the falling of the great
naragasuran.
