Thamizhan endru sollada?

Issue: Mistreat/Genocide of tamizhians in Lanka, the island country, demanding ceasefire.

October 17: Members of Parliament belonging to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam tendered their resignations to party president and Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Friday.

Nowadays, the ulterior motives behind political parties are not so ulterior, it's obvious, 100% for political gains. Mamta bannerjhi - Singur 'movement', Raj thackeray attacking northies, are quite a good examples.

When malaysian tamizhians were ill-treated, the TN govt condemned it and urged the central to take some steps to stop it. It made a lot of sense to me, since many of our relatives, living/settled in malaysia. Lots of family here depend on them, both morally & financially. What not making sense to me is, TN govt supporting the tamizh speaking group from lanka, where hardly Tamilnadu lineage tamizhians can be found. Lankan army doesn't even let tamizh fisherman from TN to reach their boundaries in the ocean, so tamizhians from TN settled in lanka in recent times would be very very less. Tamizhians in Lanka could have settled pandya/cholas time when we frequently invaded sri lanka (Raja raja cholan invaded Lanka during 1000 AD is one such instance), which is long back.

TN govt expressing grief for their situation is different, which could make sense, but going to the extend of resigning the ministership does not. Moreover the govt is interfering with the internal issues of a different country, when we have enough internal issues to be solved. The govt/ruling party could very spend this energy in resolving the dispute with the neighboring states. We are not friendly to our neighboring states, though we are part of the same country, but friendly to neighboring countries for no good cause, which is absolutely ridiculous. Grow up kicha, the motive is simple: Racism/Groupism, for political gains.

P.S. The above passages does not mean I am not a fan of tamizh/tamizhian, in fact, most of my favorites are from TN, I love tamizh more than C/C++.

Disclaimer: We/Govt/Ruling party is used interchangeably, rephrasing is required wherever applicable.

firstly, i guess TN is trying to avoid another assasination i guess... also, i thought TN demands not to help SL army to kill Tamils thaz it not to help Tamils in SL and it cant be done too...i guess TN will be the target if the LTTE gets angry on India as TN is more vulnerable if LTTE plan to attack India.... am not sure though !!! however, its better to stay out of the problem and just watch instead of getting involved and loosing indian HR ;)

good this happened so that the SL Tamils wont plan their attack in TN thinking atleast some part of India are respecting Tamils in SL.

Before I say anything, I've very limited knowledge on these issues. What looks to me by looking at all Tamil magazines, Tamils (so called by speaking Tamil Language/read or write Tamil language as primary communication) lives in SL. if TN try to support those, it makes sense. Comparing with Malasiya or not, I dont see a point. I believe you are a tamil if you speak tamil as primary language (with ur childs), doesn't matter you moved 1000 years back or a month back. Having said that, I dont want to bring a point that i want to classify people by language and separate. Whatever you do or speak or work, everyone should be guaranteed with "Human Rights".. Personally i feel, something which doesn't comes under "Human Rights", isn't whether its done by govt or single man.

@aravindh: very true.. rajiv gandhi assasination is a perfect example from the past.

@suresh: I agree that we should raise our voice for "human rights". But why under the name of a particular race? All these politicians, actors end up supporting LTTE which I don't think is good, that being the internal affairs of the 'nother country. the same politicians were involved in beating up north indians during 70s, kannadigas as & when need came ... appa enga pochu "human rights"? its very apparent that all these voices are for "political gains". if you track raj thackeray news these days, you will know from what perspective i am saying these.

I partially agree. Its been unfortunate that we always lead by wrong people(so called leaders).. Lot of mistakes is being committed everywhere and it done from human era. The truth, eventually you are getting civilized. Today at 21st century and lot of people given their lifes in the past in order to establish better future for coming generation. I heard on that LTTE support public speech, many people raised for separate TN. Wow. No doubt, those people has to be punished severely. India is created by losing millions of lifes. Just some bugger to benefit, he wants separate TN. At same time, as TN we have equal rights at center. Thats all we want eventually. Similar thing applies for Tamils in SL. Go through wikipedia for Black July. those are real bad events. But, forget it and work for next and make sure that we are not bringing similar probs later.

We are almost in same page. All i just wanted to remind is, being so aggressive aginst something misses orginial problem.
